Inside Access (www.insideaccess.lk), an initiative powered by Access, was recognized as the 1st runner-up for the Best Community Empowerment Programme under the Media and Publishing Sector at the SLT Zero One Awards 2017/18, held recently. The award ceremony was organized by the national ICT solutions provider Sri Lanka Telecom PLC for the second consecutive year with the objective of recognizing institutions, individuals and brands for digital excellence across a wide range of sectors and industries. This is yet another remarkable achievement of Inside Access, marking its significance in contributing towards an informed society empowered by knowledge and insights.
Inside Access is a local initiative by Access International (Pvt) Ltd to curate and promote information with the aim of facilitating more informed conversations. The initiative works together with local organizations, private and public to create a resource of knowledge that will be beneficial to the development of individuals, businesses and in due course, Sri Lanka. Currently, research-based insights are provided freely under three categories: Industry Insights, Business Insights and Consumer Insights. The blog is also supported by both Facebook and Instagram social networks and has garnered a wide range of followers representing varying fields and levels.
The blog is looking to build upon its early success and expand its knowledge sharing endeavours to offline events in 2019. First implemented in May 2018 by InsideAccess, the Thorathuru Dansela is one such initiative that is planned for 2019 as well, with the objective of nurturing a knowledge sharing culture. The very first Thorathuru Dansela conducted during the Wesak season of 2018 was a novel experience, well received by its visitors. InsideAccess also implemented a monthly series of ‘infoshare’ programmes featuring workshops and seminars on selected topics for the members of the Access Group. The primary objective of this programme was to facilitate the development of both personal and professional skills and once again cultivate a culture of knowledge sharing. Even though the workshops and seminars conducted were limited to the employees of the Access Group, InsideAccess is looking forward to open it to professionals from other institutions to better facilitate the goal of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
